Strength training

I’m kinda new to this so I don’t know a lot. I’m 5’9 and weight 170. My current goal is to get stronger (strength training) not bigger. I was wondering if I want to maintain weight while burning off fat and turning into muscle while eating 2500 calories a day and burning 2500 same day. Would that help me achieve my goal or would it just keep my body fat levels the same without helping me get stronger??? idk if I explained this right but I tried lol
