Tracking Protein in Deli Meat

Hi there,

So to start off with, I'm already aware of the inferiority of deli meat to other meat (fresh chicken breast, ground beef, etc.) in terms of health. Preservatives, sodium, etc., it's just not as good.

My question is just about tracking protein. If I, for example, get a bunch of deli chicken breast (and it's from the counter, so there's no nutritional label), is the protein content the same? Ie. 160g of fresh chicken breast is 40g of protein, is it the same with deli chicken breast? My thought is that the added preservatives and such might throw off the weight, so actually you'd need to have more than 160g to get the 40g of protein.

Thanks!
