Hey everyone I have been a lurker on this site for some time now and decided to hopefully get some advice here. I am 25 years old and been on and off working out for years. I currently weigh 182 lbs and I am 5’7. I have been working out pretty consistently the past 3 months and my strengths been going up well. I’ve really just been eating anything but not tracking.
I now want to get more serious and track my calories. Since I haven’t tracked in over 3 years now and missed weeks in a row of working out here and there I’m maybe at 20% bf , could be even more. I do have muscular mass on me as well, I am just thinking to really get serious in this again to go into calorie deficit for a couple months and try toning myself out a bit. And then when I am lean then I can start a real bulk and track so I don’t over eat and gain this much bf% again.
That is what I am leaning at. The cut is kinda like a fresh start in a way and will get me better at tracking... and also it’s perfect time imo because of the Summer coming.
But then another part of me thinks to start a real bulk right now and track it, deal with the body fat, try getting close to 200lbs and then cut down. Then I might be 180 when cut, but if I cut right now I might be 165 lean... or even less...
Haha... long post sorry guys. Just in a mental dilemma and this has happened to me in the past too.... but I hope to get very serious now in bodybuilding.
