Do you have a weight increase target when bulking?

I understand practical muscle gain is around .25 to 1 pound per week. But since there isn't an easy way to measure muscle weight week after week, total weight is the best measure I can obtain. Is there a good target for the increase in total weight I should aim for, maximize muscle gain while minimize fat gain.

I am currently on 500 daily cal surplus and with excellent rest and workout (from my pov at least), I am gaining proximately 1 pound of body weight per week but felt like I am getting chunky.
