Why does oatmeal and rice fill me up so much?

What in the world..... I have always had a hard time sticking to my calorie goal whether cutting or bulking, i rarely have cheat day's and i have relied on discipline and will power, i recently picked up some oatmeal the proper stuff not the instant stuff. today i just made 100g with some milk and protein power and physically could not finish it i was absoutley stuffed. Any other cereal i eat i could literally eat 4 bowls full and still want more. equating to 4 times the calories. My mind is blown right now.

I also noticed the same thing with brown rice which i hadn't eaten in years i recently made 100g and struggled to finish it. I usually get a lot of my carbs from brown bread and compared to rice and oatmeal i need to eat 3-4 times as much calorie wise to feel full. I always thought brown bread was a good choice and supposed to be filling but it has nothing on oats and rice.

These two foods fill me up like nothing else i have found, the only down side is they don't taste that great but this is seriously making me want to reevaluate my entire diet. I had no idea some foods could be so filling.

Has anybody else experienced anything similar? which other foods are supposed to be filling like this?
