Am I eating enough calories to bulk?
I am eating 2800 to lean bulk at 6'4. Is this enough to bulk or should I increase my calories. I am 14 btw and I checked the calculator and it said my maintenance is 2500 so I just upped the calories by 300. I am pretty skinny at 170lbs

Female Vegan - How to Meet Nutrition Needs & Maintain Metabolic Rate?
Hi! Several years ago, I lost a significant amount of weight/lowered fat% by having simple meals such as broc****, sweet potato, ground turkey dinners and the like.
A year ago, I decided to go vegan and a week ago I started restricting my caloric intake to 1350 (lowest advised based on calculator I've used over the years that has worked). I eat very protein-heavy meals such as quinoa, appropriate amount of nuts, avocado. Berries, spinach, nutritional yeast, tofu, kombucha, protein powder, coconut/olive oils, and various other vegetables are staples of what I eat. As you can see, complex carbohydrates and processed foods have been excluded.
I work out 3 hours a day, every other day - kickboxing, 1 hour cardio, 1 hour weights. I noticed initial significant weight & fat loss (presuming water weight), but also saw both my body fat% and weight kick up a small amount when I went to weigh in yesterday (water weight maintained).
Is this a sign that my body's survival mode has kicked in, my metabolism is slowing and I need to do a refeed? It was the only thing I could guess. I wasn't sure if it was too soon given I'm only a week in. I try to meet my nutritional goal, but it's hard to max out my protein without going over the caloric intake.
Overall, any feedback from folks who are vegan who have successfully lost fat/weight would be greatly appreciated. Or, feedback on whether I should eat meat for this effort instead because it's just not possible otherwise, also appreciated!

Monoglycerides and Diglycerides affect body composition
Do these have any affect on body composition? Small amounts of trans fats have been linked to these ingredients, so upon consumption is there any direct effect on body composition (body fat etc)?
Thank you

High to moderate body fat levels and maintaining muscle mass?
It seems from my perspective there is a link between maintaining higher bodyfat levels and muscle mass. Why would the body breakdown muscle mass if it has this abundance of fat/fatty acids? Especially fat being high in energy. I am not disputing there a number of variables and factors when it comes to sustaining muscle mass including calories and protein but it seems just being in a deficit, why would the body sacrifice muscle, that is below one's set point as fuel when its abundance is in excess bodyfat?

Someone want to give me something detailed?
Hey Guys!
So just to get you guys into the loop;
I’m an 18 year old male, standing at 6” even. Currently weigh around 242lbs. I’ve been lifting for a year and would estimate my body fat at 28%. I’ve got a decent amount of lean muscle too though. I currently still live at home and have been eating whatever’s on my plate I’d estimate 2800 calories. I’m looking to lean down without losing a significant amount of muscle. I excersice 2-4times a week (weights with a little cardio afterwards)
So here comes my question; I do realize it’s aout experimenting with what works but currently I’m unsure about what number of calories i should be consuming and what sort of foods to eat/ stay away from? I’ve tried eating at 2000 calories a day, but it jus leaves me hungry and weak without seeing any sort of fat loss at all, I anything I feel more bloated.
Thanks, Leon.
