Antiviral drug 'Clevira' repurposed for treating mild to moderate COVID-19 patients

A clinical trial was conducted on 100 people in May-June last year and the results were "promising", the company said. The selected 100 participants were randomised into two groups with 50 patients each during the 30 day-trial conducted at Government Medical College Omandurar and Government Estate in Chennai after approval from the Tamil Nadu government.
